Upcoming Good Ship Comedy

03 Apr 25

Good Ship Comedy returns with stand-up silliness for ages 6 - 99

On Saturday 19 April, our friends at Good Ship Comedy are working alongside Comedy Club 4 Kids to introduce your kids into the big, daft world of stand-up comedy. For 20 years CC4K has brought nonsense, slapstick, bum jokes and otters (so many otters) to theatres all over the country. Appearing this time round is Bec Hill, a pocket-sized Australian marvel who has carved out a remarkable niche as an arts and crafts comedian. Imagine if Art Attack was hosted by a Looney Toons character and you’re not far off. She’s supported by Paul Duncan McGarrity, the only stand-up archeologist in the country (get your kids to ask him about dinosaurs, it’ll really wind him up.)

Meanwhile on Saturday 3 May the regular show, hosted as always by Ben Van der Velde, returns with another triple threat of funny. Top of the bill is Ria Lina, easily the most qualified comic on the circuit, with a masters in Forensic Science and a PhD in virology. Most importantly she’s also outstandingly funny. Her blunt, cynical but sweet routines have catapulted her onto QI, Live at the Apollo and Have I Got News for You. Alongside her are “American by way of Japan” Spring Day, who made her Apollo debut last year, and Gbemi Oladipo, a British-Nigerian act who GCS predicts is going to make it all the way to the top!

Join us for both, but remember to leave your kids at home in May…
