Second half of 2024 season announced

Theatre Committee is delighted to announce the shows that will be performed at SLT in the second half of the 2024 season, which runs from August to December.

You can see all the new shows on our newly updated upcoming season page. Please look out for audition notices and opportunities to get involved backstage or as a theatre rep, which will be going up on the website soon.

The second half of the season, like the first, sees much-loved classics sit alongside vital new writing. There is also a balance between laugh-out-loud comedy and hard-hitting drama, with some pieces managing to straddle both. It’s all rounded off by our family Christmas show, which this year will be the stage adaptation of timeless classic The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S Lewis and Glynn Robbins.

Thank you to all of you who put yourselves forward to direct a play for this season. As ever, the standard of entries was extremely high, which led to some intense deliberations and difficult decisions. If you submitted this time but were not successful, please don’t be disheartened as we would love for you to keep submitting.

A play not being chosen doesn’t necessarily reflect the quality of your submission, it can be a case of fitting all the pieces together in a way that makes sense. So you may have better luck next time.
