South London Theatre welcomes:
L’Arche London Drama Group performs The Story of Babka
Come and see L’Arche London Drama Group’s lively interpretation of The Story of Babka, a performance based on a traditional Polish folktale of trust and discovery. Enjoy dance, humour, participative music and fun from our Lambeth neighbours L'Arche.
People with and without learning disabilities will recreate the story Babka, a content old lady, living in a cottage in the middle of the forest. She loves birds, walking with nature and talking to the people of the nearby village: a barber, a doctor, a painter and a French baker! But one day Babka receives some terrible news: the beautiful forest and the charming village is in great danger. Will Babka be able to save the forest? Could a little bird of the forest be the answer?
This is a tale of how little things can hold big power; that nature, kindness and love conquer all.
Suitable for all, including families.

We believe that people with learning disabilities have much to teach us and contribute to the world.
During the last fifty years, we have learnt that one of the best ways to enable this is by creating communities with a culture of shared lives between people with and without learning disabilities, from which we can work together to build a more human society.
At L’Arche we celebrate people with learning disabilities and build circles of support around them.
We go beyond supporting people’s basic needs to attend to their emotional and spiritual lives, too. It is this focus on building relationships and cultivating a sense of belonging that makes us different from other service providers.
All money raised through ticket sales funds future productions by the drama group.
