Good Ship Comedy
Founded in Kilburn, migrated to Camden Town and now, for the first time, moving south of the river to the West Norwood, Good Ship Comedy is your friendly neighbourhood comedy club.
For the past fifteen years we have featured some of the finest comics from the UK and international festival circuit including Josh Widdicombe, Sara Pascoe, Sindhu Vee, Nish Kumar, Rich Hall, Katherine Ryan and many, many more. All presented by resident compere, Ben Van der Velde.
“The perfect comedy club host – he is a master of audience interaction. The audience weren’t just warmed up, but pretty hysterical even before the first act of the night hit the stage." Huffington Post
Featuring:
MARCEL LUCONT
Flâneur, raconteur and bon-viveur, Marcel Lucont is easily the greatest UK-based French comedian around. Winner of the Amused Moose Award for the Best Comedy Show of Edinburgh Fringe and the FringeWorld Award for Best Comedy, he has also been seen on TV as a star of Live at The Comedy Store and The John Bishop Show..
Marcel has toured the world with his dry wit, bawdy chansons and exquisite sex poetry. He has played the Edinburgh Fringe, Melbourne Comedy Festival, New Zealand Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Great Britain, Singapore, Amsterdam, Croatia, Vietnam, Slovenia and Jersey.
“Fresh, accessible and hilarious.” The Guardian
“Wonderful French wit…A Pitch-perfect performance…superb stuff.” Time Out
JENNY COLLIER
Jenny moved from the Welsh mountains to the Big Smoke in 2010 and has since embarked upon a career in stand-up comedy. She has written for BBC Radio 4's The News Quiz, Huffington Post and Glamour Magazine and has travelled (parts of) the world with her comedy. She has performed in Hong Kong, Philippines, Singapore, Switzerland and Australia where she won the Percy Award for most tickets sold in The Imaginarium (over 1900 tickets) during the Adelaide Fringe.
Most recently she supported Jason Manford on his tour and is surely set for even bigger and better things in the very near future.
“Very likeable…Clearly a rising star.” Evening Standard
MICHELLE SHAUGHNESSY
Michelle Shaughnessy was a force to be reckoned with in Canada's standup comedy scene. Hailing from in Toronto Michelle is fast making a name for herself across North America and now the UK where she currently resides.
Shaughnessy mines every part of her life for funny and just keeps coming up with gold. Her debut album “You Know What You Did” hit number one on the iTunes comedy charts and her sophomore release “Botoxic” recently received 5 out of 5 N’s from Now Magazine.
