Casting – Dying For It

A number of excellent actors auditioned just before Christmas, with intense competition for certain roles. I am delighted to be working with the following cast, which is a blend of long-standing members, those who have joined more recently, and three wonderful actors who are new to SLT.

Dying for It is an often hilarious and very dark comedy, set in the early years of post-Revolutionary Russia where life is very hard for most ordinary people. Semyon, an unemployed man, is so depressed with his situation that he thinks it might be better if he were dead. Several people with their own interests agree and start to put pressure on him to go through with his alleged intention.

We've already started to rehearse, trying to imagine staircases, doorways and multiple entrances and exits in the Kit Room. But it's already shaping up to be a lot of fun, with much laughter and some more serious, more poignant moments.
