Casting: Four Old Broads by Leslie Kimbell

You may have seen recently that post-auditions, Four Old Broads was requiring first an actor to play Sam, then a director, then an actor to play Beatrice. Needless to say it has been a busy and tricky time!

Regretfully, original director Saskia Van t’Hoff had to pull out for personal reasons, but she had cast six of the seven roles. When no experienced director came forward to take her place, one of the cast members volunteered, so that role then had to be filled, but eventually it was decided, with Theatre Committee’s blessing, that Barry Heselden and Lily Ann Green would co-direct while both taking roles as well. Phew!

The cast and Saskia approve of the arrangements, so we all wish Saskia well, and Barry and Lily Ann are very excited to be getting on with the job in hand and working with the cast that Saskia had chosen.
